Sea of Thieves has proven popular enough to establish its own genre on PS5, and SAND: Raiders of Sophie looks like it’s building on the blueprints introduced by UK dev Rare.
This is a PvP extraction shooter – stick with us!!! – where you’ll build giant walking bases known as Tramplers and use them to loot valuable resources from both the world and rival players.
We love the idea of your primary mode of transport also doubling as your base and main weapon, so there’s a lot of potential in that. You can play solo if you want to, but this title’s probably going to be at its best in co-op really, isn’t it?

The game’s due out in March, although no exact release date has been revealed. Still, you can get a taste of what to expect courtesy of the trailer embedded above.

Stupid name for a game. Actually so stupid that I remember it, which is remarkable for an unremarkable game.
I'm a big fan of Sea of Thieves but this doesn't look interesting at all.
Knowing a few Sophies I wonder what they've done to deserve raiding.
@Mintie
At first, I read „Riders of Sophie“, which created even more vivid pictures.
Better title - Mortal Engines: The Game
Poor Sophie needs to get a restraining order.
@Max_the_German I came to comment about the name as well, but you articulated it so perfectly that I don’t need to. I tip my hat to you.
